Silicone RFID Wristbands for Pool and Beach Access
Silicone is the wristband we specify most often for Dominican properties, because it is the only material in the range that treats water as normal rather than as an event. The build decisions that matter are the closure, the sizing and where the chip sits.
Closure decides what the band is for.
An adjustable closure lets one band fit a range of wrists and be removed and refitted, which suits repeat access over a stay and reduces how many sizes a property has to stock. A locking closure cannot be removed without cutting it, which is what makes it appropriate where the band is the entitlement — a day pass, an all-inclusive band, an event.
For a property issuing to families, the sizing question is not cosmetic. A band that is comfortable on an adult forearm and a child's wrist is two products unless the closure genuinely adjusts, and a band a child can slip off is a wristband that will be replaced.
Chlorine, salt, sunscreen and sun.
Silicone is unbothered by pool chemistry and sea water, which is the material's entire argument. What does degrade is printed graphics on the band's surface, because sunscreen and abrasion work on ink rather than on the substrate. Where a band has to stay legible for a full week we specify a debossed or moulded mark rather than a surface print, so the graphic is geometry rather than a coating.
Colour holds well under Caribbean sun in the silicone itself. Bands are moulded in colour rather than dyed, so a faded-looking band after a week is usually surface soiling rather than pigment loss.
Chip placement and reading.
The chip sits in a moulded module or a flat face on the band. Where the property reads at a fixed point, a face position is easier for guests to present consistently; where readers vary, we keep the module small and central so the tap gesture is forgiving. We build to 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz, factory-encoded and numbered or blank for the property.
Whichever placement is chosen, an encoded band is read on the property's own readers before the run. A band that taps reliably at a desk reader can be awkward at a turnstile or a poolside terminal mounted at a different height.

Put it in the brief
Specify the closure from the entitlement, not from the price. A band that can be removed and refitted and a band that cannot are different products operationally, and choosing the cheaper closure for an all-inclusive entitlement is how properties end up policing wristbands by eye.
