Hotel Key Cards and Wristbands Built for Punta Cana Conditions

We make every product here to order: CR80 cards at 0.76 mm, or wristbands in one of the materials below, from 500 pieces per design and supplied anywhere. What changes for a Punta Cana property is not the technology but the environment the product lives in, and that is what should drive the construction and finish decisions.

Card constructions we produce.

Standard PVC is the baseline: 0.76 mm, CR80 at 85.6 × 54 mm, full-colour print on both faces. Recycled PVC uses post-consumer material in the same build and prints identically, which is why properties switching for sustainability reasons see no difference at the front desk. Plant-based board gives a matte, paper-like face and replaces plastic with pressed plant fibre. Wood veneer carries a real timber face over the card core, takes laser engraving instead of print, and is the construction guests keep.

All four accept the same chips and work with the property's installed lock once the credential is confirmed. So the choice is about feel, cost and end-of-life rather than function — and, in this market, about how the card survives the beach.

What Punta Cana does to a card, and how we build around it.

Two things shape our recommendations here. First, cards mostly leave a property rather than fail on it: at a large all-inclusive with a week-long average stay, the replaced volume is dominated by cards that went home in a pocket or a beach bag. That argues for holding artwork stable so repeat runs can be produced from the same files, rather than for paying a premium for durability the card will never need.

Second, the cards that do stay get sunscreen, insect repellent, salt air and pool chlorine on them. Those attack the printed surface, not the chip. A scuffed card is a brand problem before it is a technical one, so for properties in this climate we specify matte lamination over gloss on the room card, keep heavy solid-colour coverage off the areas a thumb rests on, and move the numbering to a printed panel rather than an embossed edge that collects grime.

It is also the practical case for splitting the credential. A card that stays in the room safe and a band that goes to the pool are two different exposure profiles. Properties running one item for both replace considerably more of them.

Wristband materials, and where each one belongs.

Silicone is the workhorse for pool and beach access: waterproof, comfortable over long wear, with locking or adjustable closures. Woven fabric suits multi-day stays and events needing a tamper-evident closure. Cloth stretch is the comfort option for spa and wellness. Coated paper and Tyvek cover day-pass and single-day use where the band is disposable.

Recycled PET behaves like fabric with a recycled content story, and wood-bead bands use polished beads with a slim wooden RFID medallion for properties that want the band to read as jewellery rather than as a ticket. For a Dominican all-inclusive the usual pairing is a card for the room and a water-facing band for pools, beach clubs and cashless points.

Print, marking and numbering.

Cards take full-colour print both sides, with matte or gloss lamination, spot UV, foil, and embossed or printed sequential numbering. A signature panel, QR panel or barcode zone can sit on the reverse. On wood we laser-engrave, which holds fine line work that would close up on a printed plastic face.

Wristbands print by material: screen and pad printing on silicone, woven or dye-sublimated graphics on fabric, thermal or direct print on paper and Tyvek. Numbering and QR codes run across the range wherever the material carries a panel light enough to scan reliably.

Chips, encoding and reader testing.

We build to 125 kHz low frequency and 13.56 MHz high frequency, including AES-encrypted high-frequency builds where the property's system requires it. Cards and bands are delivered factory-encoded and numbered to the property's scheme, or blank for encoding at the front desk.

We do not claim universal compatibility. An encoded sample is read on the property's own lock or reader before the run, because a credential that reads on a desk reader can still fail on a door with a different antenna and a metal plate behind it.
